1. Who we are
PriceWise™ is operated by EcoFlare Solutions Inc. ("EcoFlare", "we", "us"), 185 The West Mall, Suite 905, Etobicoke, ON M9C 5L5, Canada. EcoFlare is responsible for the personal information it handles on PriceWise and has designated a privacy officer you can contact at info@ecoflaresolutions.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number, province, password (stored only as a secure hash), account type and, for businesses, the business name. Approval decisions and their reasons are recorded.
- Orders & deliveries: items bought or sold, delivery or pickup address, delivery instructions, order status history, invoices, and delivery proof (notes and photos) from transporters.
- Trade records: produce requests, negotiation offers and chat messages, PriceWise™ contracts with typed signatures, and the contract ledger.
- Listings & uploads: listing photos and descriptions, dispute evidence photos, reviews and replies.
- Payments: amounts, payment status and Stripe reference numbers, and for farms and transporters the status of their Stripe payout account. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Plans: the business plan you choose and its billing history.
- Messages to us: what you send through the contact form or by email.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and the date and time of requests, recorded in server and security logs, and the date of your last sign-in.
3. How we use it
- To create and verify accounts, run the marketplace and process orders, pre-orders, contracts, deliveries, payments, payouts, subscriptions and refunds.
- To send service emails — order confirmations, status updates, dispute and plan notices, receipts and password resets. We do not send marketing email without your consent, and you can unsubscribe from any marketing at any time.
- To resolve disputes and provide support. PriceWise staff may read a negotiation chat only when needed to resolve a problem or investigate misuse; each such access is recorded with a reason.
- To keep PriceWise safe: detecting fraud and abuse, moderating listings and reviews, and keeping audit logs of administrator actions.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to improve the service using aggregated information.
We collect only what we need for these purposes and rely on your consent (given when you create an account and use the service), on the contracts you enter into, and on our legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to run PriceWise:
- The other party to your order or contract: farms see the buyer's name, delivery or pickup details and order notes; buyers see the farm's business name and pickup details; a transporter booked for an order sees the pickup and delivery addresses and contact phone numbers. Contract parties see each other's names and signatures.
- Public information: farms' business names, regions, listings and ratings, and reviews (shown with the reviewer's business name, or first name and last initial). The contract verification page shows contract numbers and parties' names but no prices.
- Service providers working for us under confidentiality obligations: Stripe (payments, payouts and identity checks), our web hosting provider, and our email provider.
- Authorities where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and EcoFlare. If EcoFlare's business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
5. Payments & Stripe
Card payments and payouts are handled by Stripe. You enter card details on Stripe's secure page, and farms and transporters give their banking and identity information directly to Stripe when connecting a payout account. Stripe processes that information under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.
6. Cookies
PriceWise uses only cookies that are needed for the site to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and your cart and preferences in place, and a security cookie that protects forms. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future we will update this policy first.
7. Where it is stored & how long
- Information is stored on the servers of our hosting provider and with our service providers, which may be located outside Canada (for example in the United States or the European Union). When that happens it is protected by contract, but may be accessible to authorities in those countries under their laws.
- We keep account information while your account is open. Order, payment, invoice and contract records are kept for at least seven years to meet Canadian tax and accounting rules. Contract ledger entries cannot be altered or deleted, so that contracts remain verifiable. Other information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.
8. Security
We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access limited to staff who need it, recorded administrator actions, and the security measures of our hosting and payment providers. No system is completely secure; if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
9. Your rights & choices
- You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to withdraw consent and close your account (some records must still be kept as explained above).
- You can update most account details yourself and unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
- Send requests to info@ecoflaresolutions.com. We may need to confirm your identity and will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or your provincial privacy regulator.
10. Children
PriceWise is for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PriceWise changes. The new version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date, and we will email registered users about important changes.
